Loading a Tax Update

1.       The tax update is contained in 2 files, TAXD.prn and TAXT.prn which should be put in your \PBM folder.

2.       Start up Millennium using the ADM user name and password.

3.       Select Tools from the main menu bar, then select Import/Export >> Database Tables.

4.       In the Format frame on the left side of the window, click on taxt.fmt to highlight it.  This should highlight Tax Table in the center frame labeled Database Table.

5.       Click on the Import/Export Tab.

6.       Select Import.  “TAXT” will display in the Using Format field. 

7.       In the center frame, scroll through the list of files to find and highlight taxt.prn.  “taxt.prn” should display in the Filename field.  The first 10 records in the file will be displayed in the Preview frame.

8.       Click Run.  This file is very large and it may take several minutes to complete the import.  Do not proceed until you see the message “File Import Complete” with a record count. Click OK and the Format Select window redisplays.

9.       On the Format Select tab, click on the taxd.fmt file.  Go to the Import/Export tab to select Import and then select the taxd.prn file.  Click Run.  Again, wait until you see the “File Import Complete” message indicating the process is finished.

10.   An employee’s tax filing status (e.g., married, single, etc.) is specified on the Taxes/Accruals tab on the employee information record.  To determine the filing status of an employee, refer to the 2000 PBM Tax Status Table.
