CDCI Introduces Job2Date
Putting the Power of the
Internet
to Work for Homebuyers
|
ATLANTA (June 1, 1999) - Construction Data
Control, Inc. (CDCI), the nation's leading
designer and developer of construction management
sofrware, is proud to introduce Job2Date, an exciting new tool that uses the Internet
to allow home-buyers to track the construction
of their new home and stay in touch with
their builder.
Job2Date is a communications and data management
system that allows homebuyers to follow the
progress of their new home, from the time
the foundation is poured to the day the punch
list is completed. The job cost information
is automatically uploaded each night from
the builder's office onto a secure server
which authorized buyers can then access through
the Internet. Buyers can also view site photos
and blueprints, post their own responses
or requests, select options and make cost
inquiries via a secure messaging system.
Job2Date provides consumers with documentation of
every step of the building process, including
cost variances, requested actions or changes,
and any correspondence they have with their
builder. Should a dispute arise, the homebuyer
can readily refer to the job information
stored on the server to support their position
or claim. Every action is date stamped and
is available throughout the life of the job.
With Job2Date, consumers will no longer be left in the
dark when it comes to the construction of
their new home.
"With Job2Date, homebuyers can directly access the information
they need to make decisions during the time
their new home is being built," explains
John Geoffroy, president of CDC I. "They
don't have to wait for their builder to return
their phone call or mail or fax them the
latest job site photos. Everything they need
to track the construction process is right
at their fingertips. This is very valuable
whether the buyer is across town or across
the world."
Consumers can also keep track
of any budget
variances that occur during the
construction
process, and generate an up-to-the-minute
cost report from anywhere in
the world. And
if a homebuyer has been given
a spending
allowance for custom options
such as flooring
selections, landscaping and light
fixtures,
he or she can access a cost breakdown
that
shows them specifically where
these dollars
have been spent.
Because all the project information
is available
over the Internet, homebuyers
can follow
the construction of their new
home and stay
in touch with their builder from
any location.
The builder can even provide
them with information
about local services and shopping,
by simply
posting this information online.
"Most consumers already use the Internet
to shop, trade information and conduct business,"
says Geoffroy. "Job2Date takes this technology to the next level
-- helping them manage the most important
purchase they will ever make."
