Proper
Procedure for Reporting a Program Error in Basic Builder
First, be sure to write
down the exact error message (all numbers and words) and describe exactly what
you were doing when the problem occurred, just in case there might be a procedural
misunderstanding. If possible, you can hit the “print screen key” on your
keyboard and then select “Edit => Paste” inside a word processor
program. This will create an image of the screen, which you can then
e-mail to someone on the C.D.C.I. Support staff.
Second,
in every case, remember to re-boot your PC. This will clear the RAM of
your machine and help it perform at its best.
To
re-boot your PC, close Basic Builder, click the Windows Start button, select Shut
Down,
and then choose Restart.
Windows will shut down and then come back up. This will complete the re-boot process.
Third,
if you were in the process sub-menu of any module, then always restore from the
pre-processing backup that Basic Builder asked you to perform.
Fourth, repeat what you
were doing (as you recorded in the first step) at the time the problem
occurred. If you receive the same error or situation, stop what you are
doing and send a fax (with the information that you carefully recorded in the
first step of this faq) or e-mail to your authorized C.D.C.I. Support
representative and ask for help.
