Setting Up Additional City Tax Deductions in Basic Builder

 

·         In Payroll => Add / Edit => Deductions, set up an additional deduction for each job within the city that has a separate tax percent.  Use the job number in the Code field and then select the function "Additional State Withholding".

 

·         On the Limits tab in the additional deduction, click All Jobs, and then select the job it applies to.

 

·         Go into each employee's record and assign the additional deduction for the particular job or jobs to the right side.

 

·         When creating Time Cards, list the job and hours worked on the job.

 

·         After running payroll, print the "Journal" report for the current payroll dates.  Also print the "Deduction History" report, selecting only the additional deductions pertaining to the city taxes using the current payroll dates.

 

·         Basic Builder adds the City tax withholding to the State tax withholding on the Payroll Calculation Audit Trail and Check.
